DragonFly BSD > FreeBSD!

Discuss.

>> No.2

No fucking way.
DragonFlyBSD is dead and is pretty much prehistoric (like FreeBSD 4.x).

So... did this thing actually go anywhere? Far as I remember, it's still in some sort of an early pre-alpha (i.e. development) stage, and hasn't moved from that spot since.

Then again, what can you expect from a project to microkernelize the ur-monolithic kernel.

DragonFly(insect) > BSD

Do any of you dipshits even know what you're talking about?

Almost all of the vital structural changes to the kernel have been made, refinements must ensue and the development of the rest of the clustering components must begin.

Development has steadily progressed and it is a far ways from where FreeBSD is in either of the major branches of 4 and 6.

The goal has never been to make a microkernel, but rather hybridize the kernel by internally compartmentalizing while bringing in concepts from various systems, strongly AmigaOS.

And yes, DragonFly BSD is better than FreeBSD, if only for not being FreeBSD. Because FreeBSD is just trying to be a Linux distro, and doing a shitty job of it.

FreeBSD has NEVER tried to be a Linux distro. I'm not sure what gave you that idea.
