So, I have found that by default windows runs a ton of shit that someone like me (all I do is browse the internet and play online games) doesn't need.

How would one go about getting rid of all this crap for good?

Also, can Anonymous recommend me a good browser with no bloat? I'm currently using Firefox but it uses more resources than I think it needs to from what a few friends of mine were telling me.

Situation: I want to mask my IP yet know nothing about how to do this. Can I get some help?

>> No.2

Short answer: No.

Long answer: This is an imageboard, we're here to look at techy pictures, not to answer questions for free. At least try to be interesting.

TEN, TEN, TEEEEEEN MEGAFLOPS???? NO WAI!!!!!

That is so awesome. I remember buying a 3167 for my 80386SX to play Rise of the Triad. Holy shit.

Ah, ROTT. Playing on my friend's (mother's borrowed-from-work) 40 MHz 386.

Calling BBSes and talking about programming until early in the morning, and having to sneak out through the window before his parents got up. Good nostalgia.

The only thing I can remember vividly was the fabled turbo switch on the front of the case

That and 5.25" floppy disks

I love literal advertisements

I seem to remember that it wasn't that much more to just buy a new computer. Especially with having to buy new RAM pairs anyway at up to $100 a meg...we just sold our Laser Turbo XT/3. (I wish they'd bring back the turbo button...ASUS has some NOS thing that can overclock on demand, but it just ain't the same.)

The HD version of the 5 1/4" disks were great... 1.2 megs versus 1.44, yet half the price.

21710 MFLOPS on Sandra - I'm amused that the random difference between tests is far greater than the power of my first computer.
