Tried asking for this elsewhere, but all I get are fags and insults. Any one know of a good software to convert video files for use on both regular DVD players and mp3 players? I've tried a lot already and none of them work very well if at all.

god dammit. what's the easiest way (in bash) to get the contents of a file into a shell variable?

like, say i have file.txt, which has in it only "in.file", and i want to get that into the variable INFILE so i can say "foo -i $INFILE -o $INFILE.out" or something like that?

So, I have found that by default windows runs a ton of shit that someone like me (all I do is browse the internet and play online games) doesn't need.

How would one go about getting rid of all this crap for good?

Also, can Anonymous recommend me a good browser with no bloat? I'm currently using Firefox but it uses more resources than I think it needs to from what a few friends of mine were telling me.
