Just find a shop that can charge their lasers at anything.

Smartphones- the good, the bad, and the ugly.

>> No.2

is low-middle one of those that look like N-series but are not?

>> No.3

i love my n95 :D

>> No.4

The low middle one is an E65. Decent enough phone wifi etc, but no idea how it compares with any of the n series phones. And if OP was classing it as the bad, it is at least 3-4 years old,

>> No.5

Why aren't there any good phones in this pic? Droid Incredible, Nexus One, Desire, anything? Come on.

Linux - For those who'd rather fart about with their comp's OS than DO things with it.

OSX - For those who know nothing bugger all about computers.

Windows - The happy medium (and for those who have a life).

pic unrelated

I think I have an obsession with the thought of advancement of technology in the future.

Im a hideously ugly 21 year old male who's never kissed a girl and cant get a girlfriend, no matter how hard i try and no matter how low i aim. But instead of BAWWWing about it, im riding on the hope that in the next couple decades ether:

A) Cosmetic technology will be advanced enough to make me attractive, which will require the ability to change nearly EVERY aspect of my face as i have problems with not only my skin and soft tissue but alot of problems with my skull's bone structrue as well (many bones are too long, wide or otherwise too promanant). Granted they can shave bone down now but only so much, and not nearly as much as i would need to be attractive or even average looking.

B) Androids will be availible that are advanced enough to the point where i could have a relationship with one and often forget that "she" is an AI. This (for me) would not quite require true "free will" or "self-awareness" but require a VERY convincing simulation of emotion and the ability for it to carry at least a meaningful conversation. Given the fact that it is estimated by the year 2019 that $1000 will buy enough raw processing power to equal a human brain (this doesnt mean it will pass the turing test) it is possible that this could come true in a couple of decades.

Are my expectations unreasonable? Also which one can i count on happening first, ether one will do.

Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

I think that plastic and cosmetic surgery is already advanced enough, to make practically anyone attractive. Have you spoken with a specialist? The real question is: How much is that going to cost you? SPOILERS: Very expensive.

Personally, I don't think that we will ever see B come true. I'm assuming you're talking about something like persocoms in Chobits. Not that it will never be possible, just that before that either x) you will be able to have a very realistic virtual girlfriend of some sorts, or y) we will reach singularity, which, in my opinion, is a more realistic target than a good AI, and.. well, you won't care about your android girlfriend, most likely.

>> No.3

Holy shit man. Are you seriously that desperate? A hooker can be had NOW and is much cheaper than one of those androids would cost. Also, Moore's law cannot be sustained indefinitely.

If you can' upgrade the AI of the computer, you can always downgrade your I. The Internet will help you with this task.

>> No.5

sad story, bro p_p

hang in there.

>> No.6

What are you, the fucking elephant man?

Also, none of that will be available within our lifetimes so if you're that desperate you as well just invest in one of those roxy robots.

Wow. Up until OS X beta, the Mac default appearance was an eyesore. Jesus, those colours give me a headache. Then they both look pretty much par, except Vista has a few more advanced compositing tricks for people with decent hardware.

Why do people whine over which environment looks nicer again?

The first thing I do after turning the computer on is starting the web browser in a maximized window. The last thing I do before turning the computer off is quitting the web browser. Sometimes, I pull up bash or cygwin, or a file manager. I don't much care what the OS looks like, I wouldn't even need a window manager if it wasn't for the WWW.

MacOS 7 should be ``System 7'' instead, unless that screenshot is of 7.5.1 or above.
